Exchanges with Norway

 

End of the year 2015 was marked by 2 exchanges with the Norwegian partner school Fræna vidaregåande skole. In November 6 students and 2 teachers spent a week in Norwegian  Elnesvaagen. Students from the study branches marketing in tourism and IT technician  Katka Kozelnická and Karin Kováčová (1.B), Andrea Tóthová, Carolin Urbanová, Sebastián Podskalecký and Martin Godiš (2.B)  with their teachers Ing. Jana Bakovková and Mgr. Kristína Martišková participated in the stay.

Our partner schol prepared for us varied and interesting programme corresponding with the project content:
- excursion to agro-touristic farm as the example of family-run  eco-biofarm connected with the local cheese degustation,  
- Romsdal folk museum - embroidered lace, baking Christmas cookies,
- boat trip into the town Ålesund,
- visit to Ergan Coastal Fort, Bud Museum - demonstration of fort and bunkers of WW2,
- excursion to Marmor company for the production of raw paper materials, 
- common evening with Norwegian students –  traditions in Norway and Slovakia, fun activities with very productive communication,
- short course of Norwegian language,
- making 3-lingual English – Norwegian – Slovak dictionary with phrases and vocabulary from the field of tourism cultural heritage, energy.   

A wonderful experience gained from the stay in Norway is best described by the pupils themselves: 
"Most of all Norway fascinated us by beautiful nature that we cannot find in our country.  We have gained many new and pleasant experiences with new people. We think that this exchange visit was useful for our knowledge and at any time we would be happy to return back there ... "

In December  2015 we changed the roles and hosted 6 students and 2 teachers from Norway in Levice:

We tried to prepare attractive and varied programe for them too:
- excursions to the towns Nitra and Bratislava (cultural heritage),
- excursion to Slovintegra company – energy (steam-gas circle),
- excursion to Kremnica, Banská Štiavnica (the Mint, New Castle, Bethlehem), 
- excursion to Čajkov – regional traditions, making „čilejkársky“ costume (workshop),
- at school our guests took part in the lesson of English, became acquainted with the Control system for the automation of mechanical engineering and the operation of the Information technology data storing  equipment procured under the project,
- they attended the interactive Slovak language course,
- continued to create 3-lingual English - Norwegian - Slovak dictionary with words and vocabulary related to the environment and energy.

In their own words - our Norwegian friends were leaving us „excited about the stay in Slovakia, some of them with the intention of returning back during the summer holidays“.

Since this moment,  everyone is looking forward to the next two exchanges that will take place in February and March 2016.
